Listen up guys & gals ..... this is something we think you ALL need to consider when booking a trip/hunt/international travel, etc. I know, I know ... "it's too expensive" OR "I don't need it, nothing will happen", these are typical responses we have heard in the past. Unfortunately, we just NEVER know what's going to happen in the future. So whether it's Alaska Caribou Hunting, Brown Bear Hunting or just a trip for you and your family to visit Jamaica ... it's really something you should review
We strongly recommend you consider purchasing a trip insurance policy on your hunt. Should you be unable to make your trip due to an unforeseen problem you will not lose all of your investment all together. Trip insurance also protects you from damage or loss to your equipment and provides medical benefits and emergency evacuation coverage during your hunt.
Trip insurance would have come in handy for a couple groups last season alone that had family issues and had to cancel their trip at the last minute and lost the money that they had paid. Airline Tickets, Hunting License and Tags, Season cancellations or changes by the Fish and Game or NPS, camp gear rental and transporter fees, lost baggage or change fees for return flight tickets due to weather delays in the field could have all been saved if they had taken our advice and bought Trip Insurance! Miss your return flight and it could cost $1,000.00!! Your gun doesn’t show up and a separate flight to fly it out would be partially paid as delayed baggage.
An example of the cost is a 50 year old person in Utah/Arizona/Montana with a total trip cost of $6,000.00 would pay a mere $216.00 and goes up a bit depending on the coverage you want. The trip insurance covers a slew of things and the biggest thing is medical evacuation service if you should be injured on your trip! This could cost you tens of thousands of dollars alone. I wouldn’t leave home without it!
Obviously, trip insurance is up to you, but we strongly recommend it to protect you and your investment in the trip. Listed below are links to a few different companies which provide these products - the Quote for the policy will ask the date your first payment/deposit is made and put the date you paid your deposit.
Although we are NOT associated with ANY of these Insurance Companies, we do recognize that unforeseen things happen and you never know what the future holds for all of us. The ONLY way to ensure you are covered, is to purchase trip insurance for your scheduled travel PRIOR to anything happening.
Really, we just never know what the future holds ... you can step off a curb, break an ankle and not be able to travel. What then? We strongly suggest you guys really take a look .... do your research, compare the policies available out there. For a few hundred bucks to cover $1,000's of dollars of unforeseen expenses, we just think it's well worth the cost involved. As a matter of fact, we just purchased it for a trip we have scheduled later this year.
You never know if the Commercial Airlines may delay, or even worse, cancel a flight, what then?
