2017 = 97% Success Rate
The bears in this area have a wide variety of coloration - with light blonde being the most predominate color. Bears in this area can range from 6'5" to over 9'! Spot & stalk, fair chase hunting with days glassing mountain sides or streams while watching the animals feed on berries and salmon to get ready for the inevitable winter hibernation.
Our Arctic Grizzly and Caribou Combo Hunts were phenomenal this year.
2018 = 96% Success Rate
2017 = 92% Success Rate
Spot and Stalk is the name of the game on any Alaska Caribou Hunt, but it plays out the same with the Arctic Grizzly Hunts which makes these two hunts a great combination on one 10 day hunt!
The Alaska Peninsula, specifically Cold Bay, Alaska - provides an amazing backdrop during glassing periods out in the field. The Brown Bear in these two Game Management Units (9E & D) can grow to more than 11 feet squared with skulls measuring 30+ inches. When Winter looses it's grip and Spring begins to appear, the bears will come out of their dens after a long winter's nap - and you'll be glassing them as they come out hungry and ready for all the activities that Spring has to offer.
96% Success Rate for 2018 Spring Brown
Our success has been established years and years of hunting these areas and know when to place a camp on the beaches where dead whales or walrus' wash up on shore during the spring break up .... or on a hillside where bears are always looking for food, adult Sows or chasing smaller boars up and down the mountains and beaches to take possession of their domain and food supply.
The Alaska Peninsula, Pt. Heiden, provides hunting during the Fall in Odd #'d years. Can you say ....
89% Success Rate for 2017 Fall Brown Bear
Good, because that's what we had for our Fall 2017 Spring Brown Bear Hunts. Hunting in Game Management Unit #9E, you'll have plenty of opportunities for a ten-foot plus brown bear. Over the years, our clients have taken record book brown bears on this hunt.
Hunting is primarily done in the low areas along streams and rivers - as the bears are filling their bellies with fresh salmon to put on the weight needed to sustain the long harsh winters of Alaska. Intercepting the Bears while they are moving to and from their feeding locations to their beds in the thick Alders will give you the opportunities to take the animal of your choice.
